Dr. Weerasinghe completed a B.Sc in biochemistry and microbiology in addition to a specialist in cell and molecular biology at University of Toronto.  In 1995 he graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto.  He then completed a dental residency at the University of Rochester and Strong Memorial in 1997.

Dr. Weerasinghe favours a preventive, holistic, active and comprehensive approach to family, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. His philosophy is to make dentitstry as comfortable as possible for patients of all ages. For the past 22 years Dr. Migara Weerasinghe has been a Markham dentist and a courtesy associate at the  Markham-Stouffville Hospital, dealing with emergency consults and treatments. He is also a clinical dental instructor at the University of Toronto for oral diagnosis in dentistry and Emergency Dentistry.
